This page should give detailed instructions on how to create your own space on my garden, but before you get around to any tomfoolery, ask me. (find me or email me: [email protected]).

What to do

  • Make an account; use the log in/ create account feature in the top right
  • It'll ask for you email and stuff so I can track who has accounts here
  • Go to the main page (click the "i" symbol in the top left for a quick link)

Now you gotta learn how to format wikitext...

  • To start editing, you click the edit tab at the top of the page
  • You will see the rest of the page content already from the page
  • You can emulate the way I've already created the main page to add links, lists, headings and so forth:
  • surrounding a line of text with equal signs will make it a heading (number of equals on each side is the number of subheading)
  • putting an asterisk at the start of a line will make it a bulleted list item
  • Putting a double square bracket around some text will make it a link to a new page, you can create a link to a new page before you create the page, just click the link to start making the page
  • Adding a little summary to every edit or page creation helps me to see what you're doing on my site

Ok, so now you can make your own stuff

  • Click the Edit tab on the main page and
  • add your name following the style I was already using, put it under the rest of the names there (we were here first)
  • Make a link to your "(your name) main links page" (it's really important to add your name to the link title so that everyone's distinct pages stay separate, other wise there will be linking errors)
  • (follow the style I was already using so the page stays organized)
  • Finish editing the page (you can say in the summary that you added your name), then click the link to your new page
  • Start adding stuff to your page
  • You could put all your stuff on the same page, or
  • make your page a place for links to other of your pages
